Services

We offer a wide range of legal and administrative services designed to meet your needs with efficiency, clarity, and confidence.
Our mission is to ensure that every client receives personalized attention and practical solutions for everyday situations — from personal documentation to more complex legal matters.

Below, you’ll find a list of the services we provide. If you have any questions or need guidance, we’re always here to help.

We provide notarization services for affidavits, statutory declarations, and other legal documents for use in Canada and internationally.

A Notary Public witnesses the signing of documents, verifies identity using valid government-issued photo identification, and confirms the document is signed voluntarily and with understanding.

Common documents include: affidavits, statutory declarations, travel and consent letters, and government or administrative documents.

Important: Please bring your documents unsigned. The Notary must witness the signing in order to notarize the document.

More detailed information is available in our Resources section.

Power of Attorney

What is a Power of Attorney?
A Power of Attorney is a legal document that allows you (the donor) to appoint someone (the attorney) to act on your behalf for financial and legal matters while you are still alive.

The authority granted can be limited to specific tasks or very broad. For example, your attorney may be authorized to pay bills, manage bank accounts, sell property, arrange care or accommodation, or deal with other financial matters on your behalf.

What is an Enduring Power of Attorney?
An Enduring Power of Attorney is a Power of Attorney that continues to be effective if you later become mentally incapable due to age, illness, or accident.

Without the “enduring” provision, a regular Power of Attorney automatically ends if the donor loses mental capacity. An Enduring Power of Attorney ensures your affairs can continue to be managed when you are no longer able to do so yourself.

For additional information, please see Power of Attorney under the Resources tab.

Representation Agreements

A Representation Agreement is a legal document that allows you to appoint someone to make personal care and health care decisions on your behalf if you are unable to do so.

There are two types of Representation Agreements—Standard and Enhanced—which provide different levels of authority depending on your needs and circumstances.

We prepare Representation Agreements tailored to your situation and ensure they are properly executed in accordance with British Columbia law.

For more detailed information, please see Representation Agreements – FAQ under the Resources tab.

Wills and Codicils

A Will is a legal document that sets out how your estate is to be administered and distributed after death, and names the executor responsible for carrying out those instructions.

A Codicil is a formal document used to make changes to an existing Will without replacing it entirely.

Our office prepares Wills and Codicils in accordance with British Columbia legal requirements and provides guidance to ensure your documents reflect your intentions clearly and properly.

Mortgage Refinancing

What is Mortgage Refinancing?
Mortgage refinancing involves paying out an existing mortgage and replacing it with a new mortgage on the same property. Refinancing may be used to obtain a new interest rate or mortgage term, consolidate debt, or access equity in the property.

Mortgage refinancing can include:
Replacement of an existing mortgage; equity take-outs; debt consolidation; and changes from variable to fixed interest rates, or vice versa.

Our Role in Mortgage Refinancing
Our office assists with the legal aspects of mortgage refinancing transactions. This includes reviewing lender instructions, preparing and registering mortgage documentation, arranging for the payout of existing mortgages, and coordinating with lenders to ensure the transaction is completed accurately and on time.

We work closely with lenders, borrowers, and other professionals to ensure that all required documents are properly prepared and registered at the Land Title Office.

Important Considerations
While refinancing can be a useful financial tool, it is important to understand the legal and financial implications of replacing an existing mortgage. Lenders, mortgage brokers, or financial advisors can assist you in determining whether refinancing is appropriate for your circumstances.
